Approximately two months prior to the renewal date, CTB Select will send an invoice.  Once payment is received, a file will be emailed showing all registered employees to the employer for employment verification to be sent to ctbselect@collegetuitionbenefit.com.  The annual Tuition Rewards Points will be posted to the accounts within 48 hours of receipt of the file.

Yes.  

Adding Students and Pledging Tuition Rewards. 

  • Students must be registered by the subscriber by August 31 of the year when the student begins 12th grade.
  • The last day for pledging earned Tuition Rewards to a student is August 31 of the year the student begins 12th grade. 
    • This is also the last day for a student to earn any Student Tuition Rewards from any source.

Submitting Student Tuition Rewards to member schools. 

  • Using the college and university list available in the subscriber’s account, the subscriber must submit a Tuition Rewards statement to any member school(s) a registered student applies to within ten days of the application being submitted.

You can expect to receive employee communication materials within a week of CTB Select receiving payment.  Materials will include information on how employees can register online or how a census can be submitted for all employees.

Tuition Rewards Points will be banked for those employees that had Guardian coverage one year prior to Guardian cancellation.  We cannot bank Tuition Rewards Points for any employee even if they were with Guardian after the cancellation date because Guardian did not send an eligibility file for those employees.  In addition, we cannot bank Tuition Rewards Points for new employees since we do not get an eligibility file, going forward, from you.

Going forward employees will continue to receive annual Tuition Rewards based on the original renewal date under the old Guardian plan.

Yes.  Points can only be used if the employee registers while the plan is inforce.

Yes.  CTB Select is now open to ALL employees including part-time employees regardless of whether they take employee benefits.

No.  Your employer pays the entire cost of sponsoring the plan.

Your employer will provide instructions on how to register online which will include a company wide password to access the registration portal.  REMEMBER, if you do not register, you cannot participate.

You must register or previously have registered under the old Guardian plan in order to receive Tuition Rewards Points.  Tuition Rewards Points are still earned on the anniversary date of the old Guardian plan.  This date is the same for all employees, new and previously registered employees.  CTB Select will work with HR to verify employment of all registrants.

Not necessarily.  Under this plan you receive 2,000 Tuition Rewards Points per year and each student registered will receive a one-time bonus of 500 Tuition Rewards Points in his or her name.  Some Guardian plans allowed employees to earn 2,000 Tuition Rewards Points per qualifying line of coverage.  Since there is no requirement to take benefits everyone will receive the same flat 2,000 Tuition Rewards Points annually.

You will now be eligible to participate in CTB Select and earn Tuition Rewards.  ALL employees can now register and begin receiving Tuition Rewards Points.

Yes.  If you previously elected qualifying coverage(s) through Guardian, you will keep your accrued Tuition Rewards Points.  As always, you must register while the plan is active to have Tuition Rewards Points put in your account.
